SUBLIMINAL MESSAGES
Subliminal messages are snippets of information or byte-sized instructions designed to bypass our conscious awareness and directly enter the deeper realm of our mind. The subconscious Serb means below. Our five senses do not readily pick up on these messages. Usually we cannot detect them or they are otherwise very subtle. Subliminal messages often dubbed subliminals, can include images, words or sounds that we are unaware of seeing or hearing. It’s believed that under the right conditions subliminals can influence our behaviour, beliefs and the choices we make. How exactly the theory is that the messages are received without the power of reasoning. Our conscious mind governed by our five senses is apt to be biased. We may reject certain ideas or suggestions presented to us because we have the power to choose or question the information unlike the conscious mind which is somewhat resolute the sub consciousness is said to absorb information without critique. In popular psychology, the conscious mind is described as the tip of the iceberg with the sub conscious and unconscious mind forming the hidden deeply rooted aspects of ourselves. Arguably much who we are, our core is buried beneath the top layers of what we can see, hear, taste and touch. The actions of subliminals via sound is similar to hypnosis this practice is intended to deliver positive suggestions that support us in improving our lives. For example: Helping us to overcome phobias and curb certain habits. Experts opinion is that even when we fall asleep and are not actively listening we can still read the benefits of hypnotic suggestion with repetition we can begin to witness desirable changes taking shape (manifests). According to this information we do not need to consciously register sounds for them to be effective. With hypnosis however we can clearly hear the messages if we choose, knowing just sits more comfortably and here’s the caveat if we’re unclear on the messages being fed to us then surely subliminal suggestion is open-ended in a professional context subliminals have largely been shunned due to weak scientific evidence. But others have stressed that we may be subjected to them daily in different media and they could be used to persuade or even ‘brainwash’. Some people believe that through subliminals we are even capable of changing our physical appearance.
Here we’ll look at five examples of subliminal messaging that we may have been exposed to:
1) POPCORN & COCA COLA – (Hidden photo content interpreted into the displaying during a movie – This hidden comercial of popcorn and coca cola were used in movies in America back in the 1980’s)
2) BACKMASKING – (Hidden words or phrases in songs while being played reversed)
3) BACKMASKING & TRIGGER WORDS IN TOYS – Toys with audible content, where hidden messages were detected when the audio got; pitched down, reversed or both. Studies has shown that children are extra receptive of subliminal messages. For example Wallmart was allegedly accused of selling aubioble baby toys with multiple messages inserted, vaguely a voice repeatedly pronounced the phrase;
– “I hate you, I hate you, I hate you…..
To hear this someone had to record the toy’s pre-installed audio, and play the actual recording loud. The toys were pulled of the market without any press release meeting or announcement. There has been exposed other toys from the leading toy companies that had graphic violent content or sexuall content, hidden inside of them, ready for a child to find.
4) HIDDEN MESSAGES IN MOVIES – (Rapid snapshots, that we won’t notice while watching the movies, but the subconscious mind will process and store these messages)
